How to Setup and Dominate in Local SEO with Multiple Locations (or a franchise)

Does your business or franchise have multiple locations? Are you looking to localize your SEO in a more effective way? We have several tips on how to go about improving Local Search Engine Optimization. A good Local SEO Services package should include the tactics discussed below.

Practically half of Google searches are based around local businesses. This shows how crucial it is to include your location when setting up SEO for your website. Featuring your location to optimize your searches will provide you much more traffic based on just the area for which people will search.

The key is to also make your website stand out against other local competitors, while also distinguishing between the different locations if you have multiple.

Most websites will tend to rank their homepage with various location keywords linking it to one homepage. This will overload the keywords to your homepage and could potentially confuse the customer, as well as mess up the rankings for your website on Google. Each page should highlight one aspect that you offer.

If you have multiple locations then you need multiple pages specific to each location. Someone searching for a service that you offer in Columbus probably does not need to see the service you offer in another state.

The easier it is for the customer to find exactly what they are looking for in a timely manner, the better results you will see. By building out multiple pages for your various locations, it will help to improve your SEO focus on each ranking individually.

You can improve how easy it is for customers to navigate your website based on how organized the URLs are. Try to stay with a uniform URL that makes sense with separating out the different locations. You can create a bulk spreadsheet to help easily maintain all locations.

You should also look at having each page custom to each location. Include descriptions, common questions, photos specific to location, reviews from the area, and directions. It would also be beneficial to create a Google My Business for each location as well, but all under one account. You can utilize this to make all information uniform to your brand, while making minor changes for each location.

If you list your business in local directories, it gives your name, address, and phone number (NAP) exposure. When Google sees your NAP in multiple websites, it positively affects your SEO.

Including reviews for each location will also help immensely when people search for your business. More than half of people searching online trust online reviews when making a decision, and more importantly look for 4 or more stars in a review.
